“Paradise!” November 2, 2009 - Martinsville, IN
I love Tradewinds Resort! I stayed there for 5 days in September, on a solo getaway, and loved it so much that my husband and I went back in October! The units are well appointed and immaculate, the landscaping is beautiful and well maintained, the pool is perfect, and we loved going out on the pier and drinking our coffee in the morning and catching glimpses of the dolphins. I can't say enough about Tradewinds, except we will definitely be going back as soon as we can!
“Charm of Florida's yesterday with all the comforts of today” October 27, 2009 - Tampa, FL
When you pull into Trade-Winds resort you'll feel like you've gone back in time to a Florida before cold, impersonal high rise hotels. You'll pull up to the front door of your own little cottage, clean and tastefully decorated inside and with charming landscaping outside. There's a full kitchen, dining area, living room and a separate bedroom suite complete with a walk-in closet. Just across the street is the beach on the gulf of Mexico and at the other end of the property is a pool and pier which goes out into the intercoastal waterway. Sunrise or sunset...take your pick...or watch both. My wife and I go here every late October or early November for a relaxing weekend. You can do as much or as little as you like in the Ana Maria area. At Trade-Winds you'll feel in the heart of it all but a million miles away...almost back in time.
“A lovely gem of a resort - relaxing and refreshing!” October 30, 2009 - Florida
We have been staying at the TORTUGA INN since 2003 we usually go twice a year we are from the east coast of Florida but we also love the gulf it is so serene and relaxing. Tortuga Inn consistently achieves the very best in elegantly casual and comfortable surroundings, with a staff dedicated to making you feel special. Our daughter designated Tortuga Inn as the accommodations of choice for her wedding in 2006 people are STILL talking about what a wonderful weekend they had not just the wedding not a single complaint out of 100 or so guests about her choice. The guests consistently said how lovely the rooms and grounds were - how welcoming they felt and even their children behaved better than they usually did!!! We cant wait to unload our luggage and breathe sigh of relief we always feel at home here. We have a 1st grandchild this year and next year when we come back, she will be the 4th generation of our family to be staying at the Tortuga Inn. This is a very special place.
“Family and friends getaway” October 28, 2009 - Florida
We stayed at the Tortuga Inn for 5 nights. We had several family members and friends in other units. Our room was large enough to entertain them. It had a full-size, fully-equipped kitchen so we were able to prepare and serve meals for all who wanted to come. The adjoining single room enabled us to open that area and have an extra television and bathroom. The front desk staff was very helpful in reserving rooms for our group and keeping them all straight. They positioned the different families in areas that best suited their interests and needs, i.e. close to pool, close to beach, large rooms, small rooms. The Inn is centrally located on the island. We were able to walk to most places we wanted to go. Our stay has left us with many happy memories that would not have been possible without the facilities and staff that the Tortuga Inn has.
“Better than we anticipated...AWESOME!” October 23, 2009 - Orlando, Florida
We stayed in a two bedroom garden delux room. It was beautiful! The furnishings were new, the kitchen was huge and the living space was plenty! Great service during making reservations and upon check-in. We will definately be back and will recommend it to others!
“Heaven on earth is at the Tortuga Inn.” October 18, 2009 - Orlando Florida
This was my fourth stay at the Tortuga Inn. The facilities are the perfect complement to an island that is truly a getaway. Hotel staff are friendly and extremely accommodating. From our front porch perch we enjoyed sunsets into the Gulf and just a few steps away felt the cool smooth Gulf sand between our toes. Anna Maria Island is the perfect island getaway far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I especially liked that there were no towering hotel chains to mar the beautiful skyline. Just peace and quiet -- perfect for a romantic weekend.
“A VACATION TO REMEMBER” October 18, 2009 - Ridgewood NJ
First and foremost I have been traveling for well over 40 years. We have traveled for both business and pleasure during this time period. Included in this travel have been family vacations. Now our family includes three married children and two grandchildren.
All of the above are my most valuable resources. Family vacations are few and far between. The week we spent at Tortuga was a week which will be remembered by all. The suites,153 and 155 were outstanding. The facilities were immaculate. Most importantly the staff from the front office to the young ladies that do the cleaning were/are all"pay attention to detail people"
We will be frequent attedees to this resort

“This place is heaven” October 16, 2009 - Richland Center, Wisconsin
We were there for a family wedding, coming from all over the U.S., and had a great time. Even though we were in different buildings, it was easy to connect with each other and everybody's accomodations were geared to what worked best for them. Everything was beautifully decorated and relaxing. A real oasis between all of the wedding activities that were scheduled. I wish we had longer to stay and just enjoy the resort itself. Our 2 bedroom apt was exceptionally clean and had all of the comforts of home and more. There are many great places to eat and the beach was beautiful and inviting. The office staff was very accommodating. They were great about helping to make the event run smoothly. I highly recommend this place to singles, honeymooners, families, or anyone planning a reunon. You won't be disappointed.
“ The perfect getaway
” September 28, 2009 - Orlando Florida
My wife & I have been looking for a close 3-4 day getaway, well we found it. the resort sits on the gulf & the bay, the best of both worlds. they have an amazing new dock for boats, plus they allow us to bring our little dog with us. we can't wait to go back when ever we leave. thanks tortuga inn, for a great getaway for us.
“ Delightful hotel and location. We'll be back!!
” September 24, 2009 - Valdosta GA
We decided on the Tortuga Beach Inn based on SouthernLiving.com's recommendation and so many positive reviews and we were not disappointed. Anna Maria Island is such a special place, old Florida at it's best, and the Tortuga Inn was fabulous. Our room (#165) was spacious, spotless and beautifully appointed. It was extremely comfortable and had every thing we needed for our 5 day stay. We enjoyed the complimentary beach towels, umbrellas and chairs as well. The Inn was quiet and the location was perfect. Just a quick few steps across the 2 lane road to the most beautiful stretch of beach with emerald, turquoise and blue placid waters. The only negative comment I can make is we asked for and were assured a view of the bay and our room and porch offered barely a peek at the water due to palm trees and the roof of a villa in front of the building. Next time we'll request a room on the 2nd floor. There will definitely a next time. If you're looking for high energy, fancy shmancy and chain restaurants and stuff you see anywhere, go to Orlando or Panama City. But if you want laid back and cozy, local flavor and fun, Anna Maria is the place!
“ Great place to stay in anna maria
” September 12, 2009 - Florida
Had a wonderful trip. The rooms were great!! Beautifully decorated and very clean with nice amenities. The staff was nice and helpful. The hotel is located walking distance from beach, intracoastal and restaurants. Very family friendly, we will definitely go back.

“ Best experience ever!
” September 7, 2009 - St Pete
We checked into the Tortuga Inn initially as a chance to plan our wedding and reception. We were lucky enough to have won the first annual Anna Maria Island Wedding Festival in January. One of the packages we won was a weekend getaway at Tortuga Inn, so we decided to use that as our "home base" for all of our wedding planning.
However, once we were relaxed and captivated with the sheer beauty of Anna Maria Island and the impeccable services offered by David Teitelbaum and his staff at Torguga, we were inspired to move forward and ELOPE during our fabulous stay at the resort. David, and his assistant, Katy, made sure that every detail was addressed. Within a matter of 48 hours we were able to have the wedding of our dreams, enjoy first class accommodations, and celebrate the best days of our lives. Thank you David, Katy and staff for the most memorable days of our lives! Mary and John DeRussy
“ STOP, must read, AMAZING
” August 28, 2009 - California
We just got back from 9 amazing days at the Tortuga Resort. It was nothing short of perfect. Yes there were a couple problems (I'll get to later) but nothing that could ruin a trip. We checked in late Thursday nigt our keys were in a box with a map. Our first impression was WOW and it never went away. After a good night sleep on a very comfortable king size bed, we got a call to come to the office for the official ckeck in. I finally got to meet Janet, the person who had spent a significant amount of time and emails answering my every little questions. Actually she was the main reason I booked here. I had spent one month searching for the perfect place, from private homes and condos to probably every resort on Anna Marie. We booked room 244 gulf front above the front pool. Way worth the extra few dollar for the view and convience to the pool and beach. The room was immaculate and smelled like my own home. NO icky cleaning smell that is usually found at resorts. Furniture was beautiful but slightly uncomfortable for the person who didn't get to the main couch first......The unit comes equipped with everything needed. We went grocery shopping and only ate out once. The resort is very close to many attractions, Mote Aquarium, Ringling Brothers Museum, parasailing, etc. All within 15 minutes. The private beach which is just across the road was amazing. Umbrellas, beach towels and chaise lounges. We had every intention of doing all the attractions, but everyday we could not find ourselves up to leaving the resort. It was that relaxing. If we did have a question either a quick phone call or visit to the friendliest front take I have ever encountered, would get things taken care of ASAP. The pools were amazingly sparkling clean considering all the sand, the beach is very well kept and the nicest on the island. You will certainly be doing yourself a disservice if you don't book the Tortuga. Now for the few negatives, housekeeping is limited, the room we stayed in had some carpet, which they tell me is being replaced and thats it! We will be back.
“The Tortuga Inn is outstanding in every way.
” August 25, 2009 - Florida
I made a return trip this summer to the Tortuga because we were so satisfied with our stay last year. At that time we had to leave one day early and were very sad. This year we made up for it and stayed 4 nights. The rooms are the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The housekeeping staff as well as office staff are extremely friendly and most of all - fun. These people are actually happy - which is the best in customer relations. They are helpful and seem interested in supplying you with all you need. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The pools are clean and child friendly - complete with toys. The hotel also supplies umbrellas, towels and beach lounge chairs which is a wonderful touch. You have everything you need. I will return again and again. What a marvelous time we had! THANK YOU TORTUGA STAFF!!!!!
“Fabulous!” August 23, 2009 - Dallas/Fort Worth
My fiance and I had no idea what we were going to do for our wedding. We tossed around ideas from a quiet ceremony in our backyard to a destination wedding in Mexico. We read an article in USA Today about Anna Maria Island. It looked beautiful and we knew that was where we wanted to get married. The next step was picking a resort to accommodate 30-40 guests with all different budgets and room needs. The Tortuga Inn was the absolute perfect place! I cannot express how wonderful this place is. It is rare that you find a place in which the accommodations are exactly like the pictures and description found in brochures or online. We rented out all the Bay side rooms. They were clean, up-to-date and very spacious. Everything we needed was there (washer/dryer, kitchen utensils, etc) Having our own private pool and spa was just the icing on the cake. We loved our stay so much that we extended our 8 days to 10. We were thrilled we were able to continue our stay at the Tortuga. We moved from the large 2 bedroom, 2 bath Bay (unit #157) to the Gulf View (unit #218). It was great! The views are fantastic. A short walk across the 2-lane main drive and you are on the private beach of the Tortuga. Great restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The Tortuga is very comfortable, relaxing and quiet. Thanks to everyone at the Tortuga for answering all our questions prior to arrival and continuing the great service while we were there. Our guests loved the Tortuga as well and we are all planning a return trip. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. We highly recommend the Tortuga and Anna Maria Island! Wishing you happy and safe traveling!
“ This place is absolutely an impeccable sleepy little seaside gem!
”August 3, 2009 - Seminole, FL
This place is even more amazing than their virtual tour! By far the nicest place on Anna Maria Island and the staff particularly Janet were extremely patient and accommodating with our needs! I've lived in Madeira Beach (seminole) for 22 yrs and have traveled all over Florida ,nothing compares to the Tortuga...nothing!
Whoever designed and foinished this place hit a Grand Slam!..and the location...well...it speaks for itself!
Amazing restaurants within walking distance ..just ask Janet for the local faves !
2 Thumbs-up plus all the fingers and toes!
“Wow!!!!” July 14, 2009 - Vandemere, NC
My husband and I went here for our honeynoon in May. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a unit that had a great view of the bay. The breezes on the screened porch, which was decorated just as nicely as the entire place. The furniture, the pictures, vases, the bathroom was huge, the kitchen was awesome,etc...I could live here. We will be back with friends and family. The location access to the beach was right across the street from the pool. And a couple of great outdoor eateries within walking distance. Visit Tortuga Inn Soon. You will love it!!!
“Lovely place” July 14, 2009 - Scotland
My family and I stayed here for 5 nights.. We stayed in a deluxe 2 bed/2 ba apt. It was really spacious and beautiful inside. It had everything you could want.. We had a lovely spacious enclosed balcony which was beautifully furnished too. The parking was below us which was very handy when the rain came on and you could get into your car without getting wet. There was a pier leading onto Sarasota Bay. This was great for fishing. The gentleman in reception was very helpful and helped my children set up their rods. The reception staff were all so helpful and nothing was too much bother. On the other side of the property was the Guif of Mexico where you could relax on the Tortuga's beach. I thought from photographs that the main swimming pool was larger than it was. This however was always quite so it was not a problem getting a lounger. There was Wifi was was useful also.
I had assumed that a property of this standard would have had security deposit box in the apartment. but It did not. I would have liked for peace of mind to have had one to store passports, tickets etc. This is not meant as a reflection on the Tortuga's staff though.
“Great local Florida hotel with beautiful grounds.” May 16, 2009 - Orlando, Florida
Just back from a three night stay - we had a boat and wanted to launch and keep it in the water, so we were limited to where we could stay. I found Tortuga on this site. The hotel is in a perfect uncrowded location. Literally steps across the road to the beach - maybe 25 steps. And right on the bay - in fact some rooms face the bay.
Can walk to several restaurants. Towels and beach umbrellas available. Chairs on the beach - very nice beach - beautiful white sand and lots of room.Beautiful grounds - staff were very nice and accommodating. There are three different sections - the one I stayed in was probably the oldest - but it was updated, spotless and perfect for a stay. We will definitely be back soon - as we loved the crystal clear waters of the area, beautiful beaches and sand. The hotel also has a pool. Beds were comfy too. You felt like you were in a tropical area for a vacation - and we were!
“We loved Tortuga Inn.” Apr 26, 2009 - Kansas City
We just came back from four nights at Tortuga Inn and we loved it. We stayed in one of the deluxe garden apartments and could not believe how nice it was. Full kitchen with granite countertops, newer full-size appliances and washer/dryer. The bathroom was very large with separate shower/toilet, double sinks and jacuzzi tub. The sliding doors in the living room and the bedroom opened up to the "Florida Room" (screened in porch) and provided us with a great breeze throughout our stay.
One reviewer mentioned upgrading the televisions, which I can kind of understand. However, between the beach and reading/relaxing in the "florida room" we hardly even turned the TV on.
We did not use the pools that are on site, but they looked lovely.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
There's not a lot to do on the island and Anna Maria is NOT South Beach, which is good if you're looking for a place to just check out and relax for a few days.
We will come back to Anna Maria and we will stay at Tortuga Inn again.
And don't forget your sunscreen. Really.
“Florida Natives and we will return!” Apr 13, 2009
My two daughters’ (14 & 16) and I just took a short spring break trip and stayed two nights/three days at the Tortuga Inn. I am a Florida native, I have been everywhere in Florida from Key West to Amelia Island to Destin. I will return to Anna Maria Island and the Tortuga Inn again before any of the others. I compare the resort and the beach to the Bahamas. The resort is clean, the beach is everything you would expect (even the sea shells - it was fantastic, we spent hours collecting treasures). We spent our days on the beach and around the pool, reading and swimming. Very relaxing – bring a good book and sun screen.
The room is just as you see it in the virtual tour. It is clean and decorated well to give you the tropical feel you want on vacation. The beach is convenient, a water spigot is provided to rinse your feet as you walk back to the resort, and a shower is available at the pool. The pool was heated so the girls could swim in the evening (yes it was still cool in April in Florida). The resort provided towels, umbrellas, movies, beach chairs, and free internet. They also provided a change room to use if you arrived early and wanted to change into your suit and go to the beach. We only had one dinner out - we rode the trolley to the "Sandbar". I don't recommend it, I only eat seafood and I did not think the 1.5 hour wait was worth the quality of food and the price charged. It seemed to be more of a tourist attraction because it is on the beach so you have a choice of eating inside or out on the deck looking at the ocean. We had a microwave, coffee maker, and small refrigerator in our room. We brought PB&J and snacks, we didn’t want to spend our time in restaurants.
Our room was secure, 134B, a hotel style room with a king bed near the pool. The room entrance is surrounded by an enclosed courtyard, I felt very safe while traveling alone with the girls. My only thought – the walls are thin, you can hear everything going on next door. However, we did not spend enough time in the room to worry and it was more than quiet at 10 pm as this quiet rule is enforced.
“Great stay at Tortuga.” Apr 9, 2009 - Randolph, NJ
We stayed for four nights and really loved it. We rented units 163A and B. This equates to a 2 BR unit with a LR, small kitchen (with silverware and dishes and glasses) and a screened in porch. We had two full bathrooms and they are huge (separate rooms to shower in and separate rooms with double sinks and mirrors etc. The screened in porch had a view of the motel next door but it was great for breakfast or lunch. They had a pull out couch too. The unit was decorated very nicely and had tile floors. It was very nice and across the street from the beach. The check-in was fine and the folks in the office were helpful in answering our questions. The pool there is not real big but very clean and very nice. The pool is bigger than some pools we saw on the island. They have their own beach area across the street and they have it full of lounge chairs and you can get umbrellas and beach toys in the office at no charge. I'm not sure about some of the recent reviews because we are particular and we thought it was very nice. Yes our feel got a little dirty walking around on the tile floors there but you are at the beach and people track sand etc into the units so I'm sure they are hard to keep spotless although ours was very clean. We also thought the pillows were uncomfortable. But the location is great. 10 mins to the North part of the island. 5 mins anywhere else. 20 mins to Armand Circle in Siesta Key. There is a trolley stop right in front of the hotel. The unit we stayed in was very modern and really, really nice. We had a great stay at the Tortuga!
“Awesome, Clean & Beautiful!” Apr 7, 2009 - Tampa, FL
I will be renting this May 2009 for the third time. My family and I absolutely love staying here! My mother comes to visit every year from California and we always rent a weekend at the Tortuga Inn. The rooms are very clean and spacious. I have stayed in the gulf bay studio, and this is the 2nd time I will stay in one of the 2 bed/2 bath Deluxe rooms in the garden apts. We have everything we need in the kitchen and it is a paradise away from home. It is a bit pricey - but it is definitely worth it! The beach is absolutely spectacular and the sunsets are amazing... Very romantic. If you want to just relax and forget the world - this is the place to go!
“Super Stay at Tortuga Inn!” Apr 2, 2009 - Iowa
We stayed at Tortuga Inn March 17-22nd. I have only great things to say about it. I was a little worried by some of the reviews before we went. I have to now wonder if these people stayed where we did!
We checked in late and that went smooth. Our room was very clean, had everything we could possibly need. Love having a fridge in the room. We could have our pop & water and lunch items.
The bathroom was HUGE!! Private toilet area, double whirlpool tub, shower stall was large, 2 sinks.
the staff was always very friendly and helpful. You do have to cross the road to get to the beach. Lots of traffic but usually someone would stop and let you cross. Tortuga had tons of beach chairs. And they provided towels for the beach and umbrellas.
the pool was nice, water was very warm. the only thing that I can think of that we wish they had was an outdoor jacuzzi.
Don't hesitate to stay at Tortuga! Can't wait to go back!
“Such a great trip!!” Mar 4, 2009 - Florida City, Florida
My family and I stayed at the Tortuga Inn the last week in Feb. We rented a room back on the bay. I have never been so relaxed before in my life. Everyday we took our dog into the office and the office staff just loved her. They we very nice to my family and pet. I will return very soon!!!!! We took advantage of the spa serves they offer ...all i can say is WOW!! awesome job!
“Loved it! Best place I've ever stayed!” Nov 9, 2008
Best place I've ever stayed! We stayed here for a week in October, myself and my husband and my brother and his girlfriend. We stayed in the luxury Garden Apartments (room 265) and luxurious they were! It was beautifully furnished and very spacious. Both bathrooms had double walk-in showers and the master suite had a jacuzzi! The kitchen was fully equiped and had a washer and dryer. We loved sitting out on the enclosed porch in the mornings and evenings. The beach was gorgeous (couple of mins walk) and there were plenty of sunbeds even when the place was busy at weekends. We booked directly via e-mails as the websie automatically adds a daily cleaning charge. We decided that for saving $500 for a week we could make our own beds! We walked to some restaurants in the Historic Bradenton area of an evening (about 10 minutes) had a very good meal at the Bridge Tender Inn. Also recommend the City Pier Restaurant at the top end of Anna Maria. We loved the quiet pace on AMI. All low rise buildings....... After a lovely week here we took my brother back to the airport for his flight to Montreal. We had booked 3 days at Clearwater but found it a bit of a building site so we went back to Tortuga Inn for our last 3 nights! This time we had a studio in the Palm court as it was just the two
us. It was perfect for us though obviously not as high end as the new Garden Apts. We will stay here next time we come to Florida!
“ Sept 2008 Stay @ Tortuga Inn” Sep 28, 2008
Had an excellent stay in one of the large Gardens condos. Beautiful lanai/Florida room, spacious condo with everything you need. Very clean and very friendly staff. Walk across the street to the beach. Take the free trolley to go anyway on the island. I am very picky when it comes to hotel rooms, but the Tortuga Inn condo deserved 5 out of 5!
“Terrific Tortuga!” Sep 24, 2008
Our four-day visit to this lovely location was a wonderful relaxing change from the hectic pace of Walt Disney World. WE chose to visit Anna Maria Island for the “ Old Florida Feel" and the Tortuga Inn did just that with the updated amenities we have come to expect like free Wi-Fi. The Tortuga Inn has a lush tropical feel to the property with palms and other tropical plants artfully planted on the Bay to Gulf property. The beach is literally across the street and was an easy two minute stroll. Our studio room in the garden area was spacious with a king size bed that was comfortable. The enclosed outdoor sitting area we shared with another studio room was just right for gazing up into the palm trees or watching the tiny lizards dart around the paving stones. Even though we had neighbors, there seemed to always be time to be alone in our thoughts in this private enclosure. The pool we used was very clean, with an eight-foot deep end. The pool area is decorated nicely, too.Our tiled room even had a kitchen area that was well-stocked with just what we needed to prepare an at-home meal. And the Publix grocery store is just a few minutes down the road. The Tortuga Inn offers things like umbrellas for the beach, towels, and floating beach toys. They even have a good selection of DVDs and videos in the office if you wish to watch a movie in your room. The weekend got busier and more lively but most of the guests observed the "quiet after 10pm" rule.My husband now have fond memories and great photos from this resort.. We'd definitely like to stay here again and explore more of Anna Maria Island. The staff is really friendly and special kudos to Patricia for being such a sweetheart and helping us with gaining local knowledge!
"Tortuga Inn Resort a favorite” Aug 27, 2008
This resort is both elegant and comfortably simple. The interior decor and landscaping were perfect for the area and appropriate for a beach area. The site was private and quiet. The staff was friendly and accomodating. They responded immediately to a request from the Bradenton Beach Waterfronts Florida Program Manager for a one-night stay.
“Has So Much to Offer” Jul 29, 2008
We spent four wonderful nights at the Tortuga in mid July as a result of a botched reservation at a nearby hotel. From the friendly, accomodating staff in the office to the sunny waters of the Gulf of Mexico, we couldn't have planned a better place to stay. They have a multitude of room accomodations from Bayside to Gulf View and the housekeeping staff are as efficient as any we've ever experienced. By chance, we were able to spend our first night in 261A, the unit we nicknamed the "Fantasy Suite." It's decor and layout would have impressed Robin Leach, who some of you will remember from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The Tortuga Inn & Beach Resort will be at the top of our list for a place to relax in the months ahead.
“Great Weekend Getaway” Jul 28, 2008
Having read all of the reviews, many of them critical of the front office staff, I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful everyone in the office was for our entire stay. We stayed for a long weekend in 121, admittedly not the best room on the property due to a lack of privacy with a big window overlooking the pool area. But the room was completely charming and management makes sure that the noise level outside disappears at 10p.m. Overall, it is a great little beach getaway. They provide everything, towels, beach chairs, beach toys, umbrellas, dvds - at no additional costs. We have stayed at plenty of upscale places where on top of the daily room charge, there is a charge just to use a chair and you need to tip the guy who brings it to you. Tortuga has none of this foolishness. And the private little beach directly across the street is perfect. There are two pools but we never got past the one right outside our door, which was very refreshing and always clean. Being right there, we were able to see the attention to cleanliness that the staff pays to the pool area every morning. They carefully clean the pool and wipe down all of the chairs every day. We also love the location on the island as it is within walking distance to the charming beach business district. We will definitely stay there again.
“Enjoyable Vacation” Jul 22, 2008
We stayed in one of the Gulf front studios, Room 220, and it was wonderful. The room was spacious with a dual head shower and a jacuzzi tub. We had a great view of the beach and the Gulf and being on the second floor cut out a of the foot traffic as the pool was below us. The pool is not very large but there are boogie boards and assorted beach toys for children to take to the beach. They also have free beach towels, umbrellas, and lounge chairs on the beach for guests to use.
“Fantastic Family Holiday” Jun 24, 2008
We stayed at the Tortuga for twelve nights in June. We had already spent 5 nights at Disney so this was the perfect way to relax!! We rented the 2 bed roomed Palm Court property which overlooks the pool and the beach at the front. The apartment is very well maintained, equipped, comfortable and clean. It was a real home from home and because the outside area directly overlooked the pool it was safe for the kids to be in there whilst you watched from the balcony. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the maid service was great. Anna Maria itself was relaxing and friendly, very laid back.
Clear blue water and beautiful beaches. We took some trips locally to the aquarium and to Myakka State , we also rented a boat from the marina and explored the bay area for half a day, stopping off for lunch and a swim. We saw manatees which the kids were thrilled about. The Island has a trolley bus which operates all day and is free, so we made great use of that to explore. We loved the various piers on the island and ate out at the Rod and Reel and the City Pier. Both had great food especially the fish. We also ate at Banana Cabana which was great fun and had good live music, and also the Beach house and sand bar. Would highly recommend this as a relaxing family holiday and definitely there Tortuga for such a high standard of accommodation.
“Beautiful” Jun 17, 2008
We just returned from a wonderful 5 day 4 night stay at Tortuga Inn. Everything was wonderful. Our room was right next to the pool and at first I thought this might be a problem because of the noise, but the property has a night time policy that the pool closes at 10:00 pm and doesn't reopen until 7:00 am and this is considered "quiet time" at the resort. They even gave us a phone number to call should be experience any noise. Of course we never had to call. My nine year old daughter loved the pool and the beach was absolutely beautiful. We met a man from South Carolina one night who said he had not seen clearer water (the ocean) anywhere else, other than in the Caribbean. We, like other people who have posted reviews are planning on going back again next year. Our room was very clean and the service was great!
“What a beautiful place!” Jun 11, 2008
We just came home from a stay at Tortuga Resort. We had one of the Deluxe Condos-what a beautiful place! The condo was just lovely and the beach just across the street. Quiet and clean. Great for families or couples!
“Loved the hotel” Jun 9, 2008
We stayed at the Tortuga Inn, My son was getting married on the beach and everyone stayed at Tortuga inn. from the staff to the inn itself everything was above excellent. The rooms were great, staff was great also. I liked the property so much that I will be back next year for a week, thanks again for a wonderful place of business.
