Statewide Marketing Council

BRADENTON, Fla. (July 10, 2007) - Taking their places among some of the tourism industry’s best and brightest, Susan Estler, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (BACVB), and David Teitelbaum, board member, Manatee County Tourist Development Council (TDC) have been appointed to VISIT FLORIDA’s 2007/2008 Marketing Council. Estler is returning for her third year, this time as Vice Chairman of the Advertising and Internet Committee, and a voting member of the Marketing Council Steering Committee. Now on the Marketing Council’s Public Relations Committee, Teitelbaum is a local developer and realtor who has been involved in the tourism industry since 1965 as Board President of Tortuga, Tradewinds & Old Bridge Village condominium associations in Bradenton Beach, a director of the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the Bradenton Beach Waterfront Florida Partnership (WAVES).

The Advertising and Internet and Public Relations Committees are two of five that comprise the VISIT FLORIDA Marketing Council, along with a Marketing Council at large. VISIT FLORIDA’S Board of Directors established the Council at the agency’s inception in 1996 to enhance industry involvement. Each committee provides input and strategic direction during a two-day annual marketing planning retreat, through web teleconferences directed by the committee chair, and through Requests for Comment by VISIT FLORIDA staff.

“We look forward to Manatee County’s presence on our Marketing Council,” said Nicki E. Grossman, Chair, VISIT FLORIDA Board of Directors. “Susan and David are assets to our industry team and will further enhance VISIT FLORIDA’s successful destination marketing efforts.”
