Anna Maria Island, Florida
“Paradise!” Nov 2, 2009 - Martinsville, IN
I love Tradewinds Resort! I stayed there for 5 days in September, on a solo getaway, and loved it so much that my husband and I went back in October! The units are well appointed and immaculate, the landscaping is beautiful and well maintained, the pool is perfect, and we loved going out on the pier and drinking our coffee in the morning and catching glimpses of the dolphins. I can't say enough about Tradewinds, except we will definitely be going back as soon as we can!

“Charm of Florida's yesterday with all the comforts of today” October 27, 2009 - Tampa, Florida
When you pull into Trade-Winds resort you'll feel like you've gone back in time to a Florida before cold, impersonal high rise hotels. You'll pull up to the front door of your own little cottage, clean and tastefully decorated inside and with charming landscaping outside. There's a full kitchen, dining area, living room and a separate bedroom suite complete with a walk-in closet. Just across the street is the beach on the gulf of Mexico and at the other end of the property is a pool and pier which goes out into the intercoastal waterway. Sunrise or sunset...take your pick...or watch both. My wife and I go here every late October or early November for a relaxing weekend. You can do as much or as little as you like in the Ana Maria area. At Trade-Winds you'll feel in the heart of it all but a million miles away...almost back in time.

“Wonderful vacation and great accomodations” September 2, 2009 - Miami, Florida
I came back to Tradewinds because I had stayed in one before and loved it. My husband, 2 kids and I stayed in the super cozy and spacious studio (#35) just a few steps from the beach. My kids loved waking up and swinging on the wooden swing just outside the door. The bed was super comfortable, lots of drawers for clothes and hangers in the closet for your convenience along with great room service and beach towels are provided as well, daily. They also give you umbrellas and beach toys for the sand. We had 2 parking spaces in front of our studio just for us and a BBQ grill. I had all the comforts of home while enjoying a week of fun in the sun with my family and I would definitely return and highly recommend it. One last thing, fully equipped kitchen was the most convenient for me with my little ones.

“Tradewinds Resort is Anna Maria Island at its best” August 2, 2009 - Celebration, Florida
We are regulars at Anna Maria Island, having vacationed there well over a dozen times. We just stayed at the Tradewinds for the first time, and it is truly delightful. The location is perfect. The gorgeous beaches of the Gulf are across the street to the front, with the rear of the property overlooking the bay, complete with a private...

“The Best Vacation Ever!!!” July 7, 2009 - Marion, Ohio
Having never been to the island, we were very excited to get there. We traveled June 2009 and stayed for 5 nights at Tradewinds Resort. We were looking for an economical place that allowed us the option of having daily rates instead of weekly only rates when we found this online. When we arrived late, the office had our key waiting for us and a beautiful, clean 1 bedroom unit. We fell in love with the facility on the spot. You could have it all with a kitchen too cook in, a living area, pool, dock and a quick walk to the best beaches we have ever seen. The staff was very nice and helpful with us and made us feel like we were home. A gentleman that worked there was talking with us one morning about fishing and I told him we had never really done that and he brought us fishing poles and bucket to our place to use for the day. My children and husband had never been to the beach and being a well rounded traveller myself, I found the Gulf to be the best thing ever! We are already making plans for Tradewinds to be our yearly vacation spot. Thanks to the staff and see you next June!!!

“Amazing!!!” May 27, 2009 - Norridge, IL
I vacationed here with my (now) husband a year ago (April 2008) on our 1st vacation together. We agreed then that we would honeymoon here (and we did on April 19th 2009) and spend some kind of time here every year for the rest of our lives. It is quiet and there is nothing to do on the island except relax, eat, swim and soak up the sun. The staff at Tradewinds makes sure you have no worries. They take care of everything from clean rooms to suggestions for dinner. This is the absolute definition of vacation to us. He is my best friend and there is no where else I would rather be than spending time with him in a place where only we exist. The only decisions to make are where to eat and whether to go to the pool or the beach. If you want to RELAX on vacation, go to the Tradewinds on Anna Maria Island!

“Honeymoon of My Dreams” May 21, 2009 - Indiana
My husband and I stayed at Tradewinds Resort in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island in July 2007. Our villa was exactly as the pictures online promised, and the resort location, pool and bayside pier greatly exceeded our expectations. We traveled by foot and free island trolley during our trip (trolley stop right outside resort driveway) and had a fabulous time. In fact, we still reminisce about the trip to this day! Having a car on the island might have been handy to travel to neighboring islands and the mainland, but we were looking for a romantic, slow-down kind of tropical experience. We would love to go back to AMI someday and will probably do so at this resort. Speaking of which.... It's not directly on the beach but has private beach access across a leisurely street just steps away at its sister resort. We had no complaints about this arrangement whatsoever! When we stayed we were able to utilize free beach chair and umbrella service throughout our vacation. The villa themselves were inviting and immaculate! The resort literally stretches the width of the island - from bay to ocean. We made many memories on that trip and were so glad we stayed at Tradewinds Resort. Other than some loud neighbors a couple nights, I honestly have nothing negative to say about my experience with this facility.

“Enjoyed our stay” May 12, 2009 - Iowa
The Tradewinds had no square block feel of just another hotel. They are quaint little cottages, ours was just about right for 2 people but the lving area was a tad small when we settled in for the night. The staff was very nice, the cleaning crew always there and right on time. The pool area was clean and nice. Very charming. Close to beaches, and you could walk anywhere to get a bite to eat or something to drink. The cost is higher than a 'usua' hotel, but you have a full kitche, and it is nice to be able to make your own coffee and not have to leave all the time when you just want to sit on the porch and soak up that sun. We're from Iowa and we were sure glad to feel that warm air! We highly recommend Trade Winds.

“Loved Tradewinds!” Feb 10, 2009 - Mahomet, Illinois
Tradewinds Resort is the greatest on Anna Maria Island, and we tell everyone we know about it and that it is the place to stay. Love the cozy cottage atmosphere; the wonderful, cheerful, helpful staff, and the close proximity to everywhere we like to go!

“Simply wonderful...A family favorite!!!” Jan 4, 2009 - Ohio
Absolutely wonderful!!! My husband and I have been here several times, alone and with our small child...and have created sooo many wonderful memories at this cozy little resort! Not the biggest rooms, but with the beautiful pool and beach right there and many fun attractions on Anna Maria Island...who needs to be in your room? Beds are comfortable and rooms are decorated in a tropical, but not tacky theme...which just sets the mood for a lovely vacation! Everything we needed to cook meals was there, which was nice! The pool is my favorite!!! You can see the bay (boats, fish, birds) all while laying out poolside! The pool is never overly crowded and there are several shaded areas for those who don't want to be in the sun. We have always met the greatest people and families there! My husband also likes to fish on the dock, while I love to take family pictures there! The beach is a short walk away...and has beach chairs, which is a plus for me! The views are just stunning. We always spot a dolphin or two..and on a couple occasions have seen manatees in the wild. Breathtaking! Definitely a wonderful place to vacation!!! Debbie at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful!!!

Perfect Stay at the Tradewinds
Jul 31, 2008 Our experience of the Tradewinds was just wonderful! Debbie checked us in and was very nice. We stayed in Bungalow 7. As we walked in I was overtaken by how nice it was. You never know what to expect sometimes. I looked around, looking for something, anything to find fault with. Nothing. It was just as the pictures showed on their website. Although the grounds do look more spread out on their website. Very tropical. We knew we were someplace special. The location is great.

Great Old Florida Vacation Spot
May 20, 2008 I was in Anna Marie on business and decided to have my family join me for the weekend; we have 14, 13, and 10 year old children. We rented a Bay front unit and really enjoyed the stay. The pool was nice and located on the bay. The beach was a short walk and we had to cross a highway; since the resort provides the chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys we did not mind the walk. The island has a free trolley that runs from 7A to 10:30P so once we parked we did not need our vehicle. I look forward to going back and would love to stay for a week.

Loved it
Apr 7, 2008 This place was excellent. Its a great place if you have kids too. Would definitely come back.

Can't Wait To Go Back
Mar 3, 2008 This was the second year that we stayed at the Tradewinds and hopefully we can go again every year. The most important thing to us when we are staying somewhere is the cleanliness of it. Our unit was immaculate and kept that way with the every day housekeeping. The pool was kept the same way and was nice and warm. Even though you have to walk across the street to get to the beach, it is not a problem. They provide you with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even toys for the kids to use at the beach and in the pool. The kitchen is stocked with the bare necessities but they were sufficient for us as we ate most of our rooms there. The staff in the office was very, very helpful when we had any questions. All in all, it was a great week in a great place!!

Wonderful!
Feb 18, 2008 We stayed in Unit #35 Feb 2-9, 2008. It is a studio that we upgraded to a one bedroom, so it included a dbl bed in a separate bedroom, a king bed in the l/r area and a queen size pull out sofa. We chose this unit because it has a very nice screened in porch, and we ate all our meals there. This unit is the largest of the one bedrooms and it's the closest to the Ocean. The unit was so clean, and nothing was lacking. Our friends joined us for 3 days of our stay, so the unit had three adults and 4 children, but still lots of room. The beach is a short walk across the street and the fantastic heated pool faces Sarasota Bay. One of the other guests saw dolphin going by one morning! There is laundry facilities that include 4 washers and dryers and a folding area. Great so you don't have to bring so many clothes. It was very handy! The office supplies beach towels, video/dvd and book loans, and beach and pool toys. The resort also had lots of their own beach chairs on the beach. We grocery shopped at the local supermarket down the street (took the free trolley) and ate all but one meal in the unit. We did eat out at Mr. Bones BBQ and had the most wonderful ribs we have every tasted! You must try them. We bought fishing rods and fished off the pier and in the ocean, but just for fun. Not to really catch anything. This is a wonderful small resort that has everything you could want. The other guest and staff could not have been nicer. We will definitely stay here again, but longer!!!

Wonderful place to relax (and work on your tan!)
Jan 5, 2008 My husband and I stayed at the Tradewinds Resort for a week in mid-December. The property was perfect for our week in the sun. This property borders both the Sarasota Bay and Gulf, so there are lots of good views. We watched the sunrise from the Bayside dock and even saw dolphins. Beach access is a 3 minute walk away and perfect for walking/jogging the beach and, of course, seeing the most beautiful sunsets. We lucked out and had perfect weather 6 of the 7 days. On the cooler day, we hung out by the pool, since it was heated. We stayed in #10 and found the unit very well appointed. The owners anticipated every need you might have. Even though our unit had a unit directly next door, we did not hear other folks staying at the resort. This resort is within a 5 minute drive of several great restaurants. I loved that on Anna Maria, there are very few (if any) chain restaurants! Longboat Key, Lido Key, and Siesta Key were all short drives away and we enjoyed coming "home" to the Tradewinds after those mini-trips. We will definitely return to Anna Maria and the Tradewinds.

Excellent "Old Florida" style place to stay on Anna Maria Island
Jan 2, 2008 I recently stayed in the studio unit at the Tradewinds and can highly recommend this property. The studio has the advantage of a private screen porch and the disadvantage of quite a bit of traffic noise. I felt the trade-off was worth it - we ate all our meals on the porch.I would recommend the "north" units or the studio for the best value because they are larger than the "south" units. I would probably go for units 6-10 or the studio if I stay there again, If you can spend more, the units overlooking the bay might be interesting, though I didn't look inside those. The Tradewinds website has detailed maps and pictures. The pool area is lovely (and just the right size for this small complex) and overlooks the bay.Overall, this is a friendly, well run, clean (very) small old-Florida style complex with very attractive weekly rates. It's not directly on the beach, but I feel it is an excellent value.

Enjoyed our stay
Nov 14, 2007 We just spent a very enjoyable weekend there, it exceeded our expectations. We arrived late at night, the key was where they said it would be and they left the lights on for us. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit that came with a full kitchen. The kitchen that was thoughtfully stocked with all the basics. I'm a little picky and I thought the unit was very clean. The pool area is great overlooking the back bay area. The staff was very helpful. The pier was enjoyable with chairs at the end of the pier to enjoy the bay and watch the birds. One of our requirements was an internet connection which was available and worked fine until the last morning of our stay. As with previous reviewers a TV in the bedroom would have been nice but not a deal breaker. We would definitely stay there again.

Loved this place!
Oct 16, 2007 My daughter and I just returned from a great stay at Tradewinds on Anna Maria Island. Not only did we love the area, we loved the fact that we had made a great choice with selecting Tradewinds. The place looks exactly as it does in photos ~ the condo was clean and there was nothing lacking. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all phone calls within the U.S. are free! The beach was beautiful as well (the walk to it was very short). The pool was very clean and the grounds were immaculate. I would highly recommend this property.

Great Place to Relax
Aug 15, 2007 NC_Traveler_7, NC My husband and I wanted a quiet, semi-private vacation spot. For the most part, the Tradewinds delivered. The room was clean, well-equipped and spacious. We stayed in one of the Bayfront Suites. The view was wonderful and literally next to the pool, which was very convenient. The pool does close at 10:00pm, which turned out to be a blessing, since...

Great pace to stay!!
Jul 17, 2007 jodell35, Ohio If you are looking for a clean, relaxing, wonderful place to stay, the Tradewinds is for you! The value is exceptional, and we can't say enough about the area! We had the best vacation ever staying at the Tradewinds! Unit #10 was the best! The owner had advertised on Ebay, and I was a little scared to book it.......Best decision...

Beach living at its best!
Jul 15, 2007 bravehead, columbus, ohio We can't say enough about this adorable beach property. We have spent the last two weeks traveling down the east coast, visiting beaches and staying where we found a place we liked. We had booked this online, not knowing what we would find, but thought, what the heck! This place is incredible. If you want a true beach town with...
